Message from the President
I hope everyone is well. This is a special Anzac Day eNews edition. The current social and economic controls imposed upon on us by Covid 19, are affecting us in different ways. From the obvious physical constraints there are also the more worrying effects on our mental health. I will be very surprised if there is any of us not adversely affected in some way. So I hope this eNews edition augurs well.

I am finding that the eNews bulletins the Trust is sending out on a regular basis are appreciated by our community. I frequently receive replies from you our readers, supporting the work the Trust is doing. The last eNews was read by 500 people and then forwarded onto a further 600 readers. In the next eNews I will provide further the feedback I have received from my comments on the Spanish Flu in the last eNews.

This eNews has links to bushwalks in our Local Government Areas.  I look forward to seeing many of you on the bush tracks around Beecroft.

LIGHT UP THE DAWN ON ANZAC DAY
There’s no doubt that ANZAC Day 2020 will be different to how we traditionally commemorate. While we cannot gather at services and marches, we can be together in spirit.
By standing at the end of your driveway, in your living room, or on your balcony at 6am on ANZAC Day, we can be united in the ANZAC spirit to remember all those who served and sacrificed.
For more ideas and information CLICK HERE.

HOLDING YOUR ANZAC DAY SERVICE AT HOME

Order of Service:
- Acknowledgment of Country
- The Ode
- The Last Post – Australian Army Band
- A minute’s silence
- Reveille – Australian Army Band

Proposed Child Care Centre in Cheltenham
A Development Application (DA259/2020) has been lodged with Hornsby Council to convert the property known as 181-183 Beecroft Road, at the corner of Cheltenham Road, into a child care centre. To view the various documents CLICK HERE
This property is of exceptional quality that contributes to the Beecroft Cheltenham Conservation Area. The DA proposes altering the existing house and constructing an additional structure between the rear of the house and the adjoining heritage listed former church at 179 Beecroft Road, which is currently being converted into another child care centre. The Trust has objected to the DA on heritage grounds and has also requested an Interim Heritage Order to be placed on the property. CLICK HERE and then CLICK HERE to access the Trust’s correspondence to Council.
