Journalists: Apply for free funding and support of your newsroom's public records work

As newsrooms around the country grapple with reorienting their coverage to their community's new needs, we want to help. That's why we're soon launching a new series of webinars and hands-on sessions to talk through angles that will work to inform your community, including tips on records requests to file, reliable resources you can trust, and onboarding more newsrooms to the faster, more reliable DocumentCloud service.

Thanks to the Lenfest Community Listening and Engagement Fund, we also have an opportunity to do more in depth document analysis and public records assistance with newsrooms— at no cost — but only if they apply by next Monday. Participating newsrooms will get priority access and support to the DocumentCloud Beta (get a sneak peak in this video), use of MuckRock's FOIA tools and public records expertise, and access to COVID-19 data sets that we're currently collecting and cleaning, based on your feedback. The full cost is covered by the CLEF grant for approved applicants.

But the application closes Monday. So please apply soon, and pick DocumentCloud/ MuckRock as the service you'd like access to.

For independent reporters and non-journalists, we'll have some more announcements coming soon to help you dig into the issues that matter most to you and your community.

MuckRock is a 501cc3 non-profit. Your support helps us keep filing.
