Health and safety are most important

During this time of uncertainty in responding to COVID-19, the health and safety of the people of New Jersey is a priority for all of us. We remain committed to our mission to improve lives and communities in South Jersey by connecting leaders and residents with the data and analysis they need to make informed decisions.

We have recently issued reports on our regional and statewide hospital capacity and how the timing of the surge in cases will affect that capacity. We are now providing a daily COVID-19 tracker for all 21 New Jersey counties.

As we work alongside our local and state officials in responding to the needs of the crisis, we will continue to analyze and share information on how this affects our South Jersey residents.

We always welcome questions, comments and ideas to consider. Please reach us at wrand@camden.rutgers.edu.

 Stay safe and social distance,

RESEARCH
COVID-19 Daily Tracker WRI plots the progress of COVID-19 across counties in New Jersey. The plots, inspired by those at the New York Times, show deaths (y-axis) on a logarithmic scale over time (x-axis). A logarithmic scale shows different growth rates as lines of different steepness. The page is updated daily.
RESEARCH
COVID-19 reports analyze social distancing and hospital capacity In mid-March, WRI partnered with the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology at Rutgers University-Camden and New Jersey Health Initiatives to release research comparing estimates of available hospital beds, by the eight South Jersey counties, with the likely demand for hospital beds under three coronavirus spread scenarios. A follow-up report in late March updates these models and attempts to predict when demand for hospital beds will first surpass capacity in each of the 21 New Jersey counties based on social distancing measures.
ENGAGE
Why the census matters to South Jersey The 2020 Census continues and local participation will have a lasting impact on how funding will be will distributed to our state and region. We've researched and outlined some of the key reasons why all of New Jersey's residents need to be counted. Read the report.
NJ Census 2020 has launched a social media campaign to highlight how the census affects different areas of life in New Jersey! Follow along and share this information to ensure that everyone in New Jersey participates!
