COVID-19 Update

Church Building

  • Andrew, Brian, and Jake are working at the building on Tuesday-Friday.
  • Wellspring Counselors, Julie and Beth, are working periodically throughout the week in their offices at church but are currently not seeing anyone in person at the building.
  • Wednesday Nights and Sunday Mornings, we have streaming services. We have less than 10 people in the building.
  • Keep following us on Social media. We are planning to do a "behind the scenes" look at our live stream setup.

Belize Mission Trip Update
Last week, our Belize team made the very difficult decision to postpone our summer mission trip. While there is a good chance that travel will be open and life will have resumed some version of normalcy by the end of July, we likely will not know anything for sure until some time in June. Because we need to be fundraising for the trip now and because we cannot be sure that the trip will even look the same (what does a mission trip with social distancing look like?), we believe that the wisest thing for our group is to postpone this trip until summer 2021. Please continue to pray for this trip, and for the people of Belmopan, Belize.

Staff Update
Some of you have asked how our staff are doing. Just like you, we have highs and lows. Honestly, it is difficult every time we have to cancel something else off the calendar. A good thing is that we have staff meetings via Zoom so we still plan and pray together every week. Your staff is working hard (often extra hours) to keep ministering to our church and community. Two ways you can encourage us are to pray for us, and send us little updates about how you see God at work. We got an encouraging note from a young child in our church (check out the Gospel Story below).

Gospel Story
We received a sweet note of encouragement from Ansley Jordan and wanted all of you to be able to enjoy it as well. Please send us your own letters or videos of how the Gospel is working in your life.

A Directory is Coming!
Now more than ever, it's important we stay connected.  In order to help you reach out to your church family, we have been working hard to create a church directory. Due to new privacy laws, we require that you OPT-IN to the Church Directory. We cannot add you without your permission. Please follow this link to update your information in PCO and select YES or NO to have your family added to the directory. You can also opt-in on the Church Center app on a mobile device, follow the link to the Church Directory on the home page of the app.

Additionally, we miss your faces and know that the rest of the church family would love to see them too. While you are in PCO, take some time to update the profile picture for each member of your family. The easiest way to do this is through the Church Center App on a mobile device.  You are able to take a new picture or use one already on your camera roll. Once you log in to the app, click your profile picture in the upper right corner. From there you can click your picture again to update, or scroll down to one of your family members below to update. Profile pictures will be included in our directory!

We are working to have this completed in just a few weeks, and you can help expedite this by taking a moment to do the above right now. If it has been a while since you have used PCO or the Church Center app, you may receive a verification email/text to ensure it's you.  Check your spam and/or promotions folders. If you need help, please email Martha Nice or Joy Roberts, or call 804-412-8112.

Live Stream Worship Services
Over the past month, we have really jumped head-first into live streaming. Taylor Fletcher has been in constant contact with other local churches as we started live streaming and continues to do research to improve the quality of every service that we offer. The primary goal of providing a live-streamed service is to continue to provide the authentic, gospel-centered worshipping community that we enjoyed when we could meet in person. We appreciate all of the support and positive feedback we have been receiving!

Giving to the Church
Thank you to each one of you who have begun to give online!  Switching your tithe to our online giving platform reduces staff hours, handling of paper, and eliminates the need to go to the bank.  This has become important as we strive for healthy practices during COIVD-19.  If you have not switched to online giving, please consider doing so. This updated post and video will walk you through our secure giving platform.  If you need assistance or have any questions, please contact Joy Roberts.  As always, we will continue to accept checks via mail, but there may be delays in receiving/depositing.

Helping One Another
Our congregation continues to step up to the plate to help people with varying needs. We have a list of everyone in the congregation as well as a list of people who are willing to help. The Deacons are also coordinating to help the most vulnerable.
If you have a need, please contact Brian Fletcher. Even if its a trip to the grocery store, or you need something checked on your house.
If you would like to be a helper but are not already on the list, then contact Brian Fletcher as well.

Small Groups
Are you in a Small Group? If not, we would love to get you connected. We have Community Groups and Bible Studies that are currently meeting online. We are also starting up new Community Groups and Bible Studies all the time. Please reach out to Brian Fletcher if you are interested!
