Learn, Explore, Create, Connect
Although library branches are closed, we still want to make sure you have access to our resources from home. During this temporary closure, we have set up virtual programs and events online. A computer with speakers and internet access is required. We know how much people rely on their libraries to support their educational, entertainment, and recreational needs, and we will continue to adapt and provide the services needed to succeed.

For more information, please visit our website: https://alexlibraryva.org/virtual or contact the Digital Services Librarian csonnier@alexlibraryva.org or 703.746.1773.

Please join us online for these programs, events and more.

A Special 'Thank You' to Our Donors
Thank You to Our Donors of the Alexandria Library Foundation Event!

Alexandria Library Foundation planned an event scheduled for Saturday, April 18 that was cancelled, due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak. The purpose of the celebration was to raise funds for materials and programs, especially for young learners, and to preserve some of the most important documents in our local history collection.

Following the recent CDC guidance to avoid large gatherings, and to protect the health of our attendees and staff, we initially planned to postpone the celebration. However, in looking at our options, we decided to cancel the event so that we can focus on our core mission of providing opportunities to learn, explore, create and connect.

Our work is even more critical to our community during social distancing. We are offering a variety of digital programming and demand for e-books continues to grow. Providing these resources is not without cost; for example, e-books for library use are much more expensive than those for personal use.

Below is the list of sponsors that donated to the Alexandria Library Foundation Anniversary Celebration event initially scheduled for April 18, 2020. We would like to thank everyone that donated or purchased a ticket to the event.
