Greetings Anteaters,

We hope that you have been staying healthy and connected to loved ones during this time.

We also hope you were able to spend a little time last week celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of Earth Day however you were able to. The Sustainability Resource Center's Earth Month events are not at an end yet! The call for artists “What does sustainability mean to you?" closes May 1. If you wish to submit art of any genre to this online showcase, please read and fill out this form and email your submission to slefevre@uci.edu. I'm looking forward to seeing all your art!

Webinar: Community Engagement in the Transition to Carbon Neutrality


Universities are increasingly interested in transitioning towards carbon neutrality. Through our discussions with peer AASHE members, a significant challenge is meaningfully engaging students, staff, and faculty in the process. During this webinar, our team will share how we tackled this challenge through our innovative Carbon Offset Pitch Competition. This webinar will be of value to anybody interested in making their schools or universities carbon neutral while harnessing the immense learning and development opportunities.

The Sustainability Resource Center is still accepting applications for summer and 2020-2021 positions.

CivicSpark
The CivicSpark 2020-21 Fellowship application is still open. CivicSpark is a Governor’s Initiative AmeriCorps program that is dedicated to building capacity for local governments to address emerging environmental and social equity resilience challenges such as climate change, water resource management, affordable housing, and mobility.
