Before we let you know what is going on in the farm shop, our family and staff would like to say a huge thank you for continuing to shop with us, support us, send us lovely messages and for your patience while we worked out how to keep trading. We really appreciate it.

New in this week: Bothen Hill Asparagus
Grown a couple of miles from us, this delicious asparagus (£4.20) is picked daily while the season lasts. Bothen Hill is an organic, family-run farm on the outskirts of Bridport.
Asparagus is classically teamed with Hollandaise Sauce; we have Bay Tree's Heavenly Hollandaise Sauce for sale (£2.85) or why not try making your own with this recipe from Brassica Restaurant's Cass Titcombe.

Visiting the Farm Shop
We have had measures in place since 23rd March to make sure our customers and staff can shop safely. It has worked very well, if there is a queue at least you can listen to the radio while you wait! There is also a separate collection lane for customers collecting orders - to find out more about placing an order, please go to our website.

What's happening on the farm...
This is a very busy time for farmers and we are lucky that we have lots of family to keep things going (including a couple of teenagers old enough to drive tractors!). Here's what's been happening:
- Ploughing, rolling, cultivating, and planting grassland for the cattle
- Planting potatoes (these will start to be harvested late summer)
- Preparing the field for salad and vegetables
- Planting broad beans
- Sowing lettuce, beans, spinach, rainbow chard, beetroot, salad leaves, herbs and spring onions
- Lambing
- Putting the cows out to grass
- And finally, Annie the pig farrowed (had piglets) her first litter. Head on over to our Facebook or Instagram pages for videos.
