LATEST NEWS
  • The Government have produced a single leaflet summarising their guidance on the main points of their Covid 19 strategy and have made it available in a variety of languages. It is available HERE
  • At a recent Primary Care Network meeting, local GPs emphasised it is OK to contact a doctor for any ‘normal’ medical concerns. Consultations will primarily be by phone but if a patient does need to be seen face to face then precautions are in place to see them safely (such as cleaning in surgeries and covid patients being seen in hubs).
  • Oxford Eye Hospital, based on the John Radcliffe site, has seen an increase in the number of patients needing care for serious eye injuries. Eye doctors at OUH are urging people to take extra care and use eye protection when carrying out DIY and household tasks.
Any comments/suggestions/concerns please email clerk@aynho.org
HEALTH AND WELL-BEING CLUB
Councillor Anderson has resigned from the Parish Council but will continue to co-ordinate medication collections for residents during the Covid 19 lockdown.
Andy will be setting up a new village club focusing on the wider aspects of health and well being and keeping residents informed of local and national heath issues in his role as Chairman of the Patient Group of Deddington Health Centre and North Oxford Primary Care Network. This will be, like other village clubs and societies, separate from the Parish Council.  If you wish to register to be kept informed of the latest news and as his plans develop please register HERE
MEDICATION COLLECTIONS
Don't forget we have a willing "army" of volunteers that can collect medicines from any local surgery or pharmacy.  We are trying to minimse the number of car journeys or face to face visits to pharmacies to protect the staff. We make a collection at Deddington surgery every week so if you can use that service please do so.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT PHARMACIES NEED A WEEKS NOTICE TO PROVIDE MEDICATION NOT ON FORMAL REPEAT PRESCRIPTION.
If you have email, please send a request for medication collection to
 andy.anderson@aynho.org or call 07768 294775.
Andy will then send a Pharmacy Collection Form for completion
COVID-19 ADVANCE CARE PLAN
It is a sad consequence of the Covid 19 crisis that some people find themselves admitted to hospital or are in care homes and are thus cut off from loved ones. NHS England has produced an Advanced Care Plan to ensure vital information is available to healthcare teams in these trying circumstances.

The plan consists of a page of information developed by you, with your family or friends (or somebody else if you need help). It outlines the decisions you have made about your treatment and the support you need if you develop severe COVID-19 symptoms and need to contact emergency services or be admitted to hospital. In these circumstances you are likely to be separated from people who usually support you or speak on your behalf, or COVID-19 may make you too breathless to speak. This plan is a way to capture and share, in an urgent situation, the advance decisions you have made around the care and treatment you would like. The plan and accompanying guidance for completion can be downloaded HERE.
