Dear Shlaer-Mellor xtUML Community,

This community continues to analyze, design and deploy executable and translatable models in engineering teams all around the world (many currently working from home offices). The Method is employed by teams in companies and universities such as BAE Systems, the UK Government, Saab Systems, ROGO Ag, Vricon, Shinshu University and Kyushu University and newcomers such as ClearMotion and Beyond Air and others.

Since xtUML Days 2019, a number of interesting developments have been realized. Here are a few highlights:

  • A draft model of the Runtime Rules of Shlaer-Mellor has been developed, published and debated.
  • xtUML was the subject of an accredited University course at Shinshu University in Japan.
  • metamodel of an action language called 'MASL' has been produced. This metamodel consists of 14 subsystems and 175 classes. The model is intended to enable translation of models onto cloud-based architectures.
  • The Dawn of Ciera explains the release of a production quality xtUML-to-Java model compiler that is supplied with user documentation and guidance for open source developers who wish to add features.

Stay tuned - we'll have more to share in the months ahead! Feel free to forward this to someone you know who would appreciate hearing the newest updates.
