At the end of each week of the NHB Playgroup, we record and release a Q&A with the writer of that week's free play, using the questions sent in by you, the readers.
For this week's Q&A, our host, SiΓ’n Mayhall-Purvis, spoke to James Fritz about his play Lava. You can listen to this episode right now here.
Spoiler alert: in the podcast we discuss the play in full, including its ending.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to send us such brilliant questions! Get involved in future Playgroup Q&As by sending your question for the writer by the end of Sunday.

This week's free NHB Playgroup play is Leave Taking by Winsome Pinnock β and it's available to read right now, until Wednesday 22 April only!
Two generations. Three incredible women. An epic story of what we leave behind in order to find home.
In North London, Del and Viv are soul-sick. Del doesn't want to be at home; staying out late β 3 p.m.-the-next-day late β is more her thing. Viv scours her schoolbooks trying to find a trace of herself between their lines.
When Enid takes her daughters to the local obeah woman for some traditional Caribbean soul-healing, secrets are spilled. There's no turning back for Del, Viv and Enid as they negotiate the frictions between their countries and cultures.
Leave Taking premiered in 1987, and was revived at the Bush Theatre, London, in 2018.
Contains strong language. Suitable for ages 14+.

Lava was supposed to be hitting the road on a new UK tour this month, produced by brilliant new-writing company Fifth Word, but that has sadly been postponed due to the coronavirus shutdown.
This is just one of roughly thirty NHB-published plays that have been impacted by the current theatre closures. We're honouring these writers and their achievements in our Still on the Page celebration β and we're asking you to show your support by buying these scripts, and experiencing them for yourselves in the safety of your own home.
And to make supporting them a little easier, you can save 30% on the ebooks of all of these fantastic plays by entering code STILLON30 at checkout.
You'll also be helping us weather this storm, and be able to keep sharing fantastic theatre in future.
