CityIn partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, the City has produced the following video reminding all of us to be resilient, support one another and local businesses.  You can view it here.
 
The City has converted the Community Center into a food distribution hub for our local Seniors and others Monday-Friday.  In partnership with Meals on Wheels and Age Well Senior Services more than 1,234 people have been helped with meals and groceries.  If you are a Senior or know someone in need, please call 949-248-3536 or 211 to be connected to services.
 
With more good weather ahead this weekend, no doubt, people will be out.  Remember to practice physical distancing and avoid gathering in groups.

Mama Says Messages:  We are looking for some new messages to post on our Digital Message Boards that provide helpful information to the community.  We are limited to three lines per screen and a maximum of 8 characters per line.  Spaces count.   Please email publicworks@danapoint.org with any suggestions.
 
The City is temporarily closing the half-court basketball court at Creekside Park due to group gatherings.

County:  Effective Saturday, April 18, the Orange County COVID-19 Public Information Hotline will refer callers to the OC Health Care Agency Health Referral Line.  Residents can continue to call 1(833)426-6411 for inquiries related to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Orange County, California.
 
Through the hotline, callers can be connected to the following resources:
 
•   Orange County Health Care Agency – Health Referral Line, Behavioral Health Resources
•   Orange County Social Services Agency – Public Assistance Benefits
•   Orange County Office on Aging – Resources for Seniors
•   Orange County District Attorney’s Office – Scams, Price Gouging

The Orange County Treasurer is now accepting penalty cancellation requests for taxpayers who have been directly impacted by COVID-19.  More information can be found here.
 
Dr. Quick reminds Orange County residents that individuals experiencing symptoms of a medical emergency need to seek immediate health care or call 9-1-1.  She urges patients to not delay in seeking care for life threatening issues beyond COVID-19, and that emergency rooms are equipped to handle patients safely.

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office has established a hotline to report individuals or businesses they suspect of engaging in price gouging or any other COVID-19-related scam.  The Orange County District Attorney Coronavirus Scam Hotline is (714) 834-3482. Reports can also be emailed to reportascam@da.ocgov.com

Orange County Community Services has implemented a call center to meet the needs of businesses impacted by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Businesses can call the Economic & Business Recovery Call Center at (714) 480-6500 or find more information here.
 
State:  The State has developed a webpage chronicling actions taken related to COVID-19, that page can be found here.
 
Governor Newsom outlined 6 critical indicators to be evaluated before the State modifies the Stay at Home Order.  While he did not commit to a precise timeline, he referred to a gradual, science-based and data-driven framework.  You can read more here.
 
Hotels for Health Care Workers.  Frontline health care workers who are exposed to or test positive for COVID-19 can find hotel rooms through the CalTravelStore website.  If hotels want to participate, they can email covid19lodging@dgs.ca.gov.

Federal:  President Trump has announced beginning the next phase in the fight against Coronavirus:  Guidelines for Opening Up American Again, can be found here.
 
The CDC has an informative page on cloth face coverings to help slow the spread of COVID-19, including guidance on how to wear to them, make them and wash them.  That information can be found here.

Utilities

Safe water:  Mouton Niguel and South Coast Water District want to assure residents that our water is safe and reliable. Water quality and supply have not been affected by the coronavirus (COVID -19).

SDG&E has suspended disconnections for nonpayment until further notice.  They have also implemented a number of tools to help customers.  Click here.

SoCalGas is working with residential customers on bill payment and small businesses by waiving late payment fees. They also have tips to save energy. Learn more here.

Cox Communications: Cox has temporarily adjusted its Cox Solutions Store hours in California as residents are directed to stay at home amid the coronavirus pandemic. As an essential business that provides critical communications services, Cox Solutions Store locations will stay open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday to serve customers. Stores will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays. To learn more click here
