Hi, I'm Amy, and I help women prioritize themselves so they can continue to care well for what else is most important to them. If a friend shared this Well Check with you, please subscribe here.
routine? what routine?
Well, it's Saturday again, Friend. We made it. How are you doing keeping track of the days?

It can be really easy, with so much having changed the past few weeks, for our entire rhythm of life to be thrown off and for these disruptions to affect our sense of self.

As I'm sure you have in the past few weeks, I've had to redesign some of my own routines, including ones I'd previously considered strong. And pieces of those routines still are a bit unsteady, since they're new for me.

But cultivating healthy lifestyle habits can help our immune system, even as they benefit our physical, emotional and mental well-being. Surviving and thriving in this season of pandemic goes beyond practicing physical distancing and washing our hands frequently. (Though they're important too!)

Some experts say the key to good mental health in quarantine is in the food you eat.

The Institute for Functional Medicine writes about how good sleep hygiene may help protect us against infectious diseases.

And, regular exercise benefits our immune system, even in isolation

All of these healthy behaviors, of course, can help us avoid chronic diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and more.

So where might be a place to begin, if you need a restart to healthy habits and routines? Here are six daily questions to ask yourself in quarantine. (I love this list and am adopting it for myself!)

Also, it may be a good time to reflect on what you notice about the new habits you've been cultivating this spring. Do you want to continue to water and fertilize those habits in the next few weeks, or is it time to start weeding them out?

If you need help creating or maintaining new habits or establishing new routines, I invite you to schedule a free discovery call with me to see if 1-to-1 or group coaching might benefit you right now. Coaching isn't therapy, but it is therapeutic, so let's chat if you'd like.

Believing in you and our ability to get through this season.

With grace and space for a healthier you,
Amy
“My daily routine varies, but there are certain things I try to stick to, like journaling in the morning and establishing my mood before I check any social media or take any calls or e-mails. That helps get me started on the right foot."
