From Anita Singh, GJCL 2nd Vice President: Congratulations to Walton JCL for winning the Virtual Service Project this year!

The Walton JCL was able to raise $165 for Feeding America! We advertised by putting an announcement on our social media platforms to all of our members. We posted on Edmodo and Instagram to contact our general members. Then, we also emailed our school's PTSA who sent it out in an e-blast email and on their social media. We also contacted our school's e-magazine Instagram account who posted it!

Everything is wrong
Don't let my dreams be trampled
and let national convention be canceled

Emma Mason, GJCL President:
I never in a million years dreamed that State Convention would be cancelled and that I wouldn't get to say good bye to the GJCL in person; and yet, the unthinkable happened, and now on this weekend that was supposed to be State Convention, I'm instead sitting at home trying to culminate all of my thoughts about the GJCL into two or three sentences. I'm so grateful for every single one of you GJCLer's for making GJCL my home away from home, and I'm sorry that our convention - our journey back home- was cancelled. However, I still love each and every one of you, and I hope that everyone stas healthy and happy during these turbulent times - valete, omnes.

Vivi Lu, GJCL 1st Vice President:
GJCL, thank you for the past five year! I'm forever grateful to my fellow officers, the state of Walton, Certamen teammates, and the family that JCL has introduced to me.

Anita Singh, GJCL 2nd Vice President:

I started Latin because I had a friend who was older than me and in it, and I wanted to be ~exactly~ like her. And to this day, that has been the smartest decision I have ever made. The GJCL has given me my closest friends and 5 years of pure bliss, and I'm so sorry that this year had to get cut short, but I know that I will forever bleed purple and gold. <3

Talha Ali, GJCL Parliamentarian:
If I could describe the GJCL in one word, it would have to be family. There is no community quite like the JCL with its eccentric personalities and incredible people. Last year while I was campaigning, I met so many talented and unique people from the marching band people from Grady to the guy who sang "Take Me Home" at That's Entertainment and the people making waffles from Eastside. It just did not feel right to wake up on April 17th and not be surrounding an auditorium filled with screaming Latin lovers bursting with chants of banana. I am already counting down the days till I can be surrounded with JCLove again.

Christine Jeong, GJCL Secretary:
To my friends, my board, Northview JCL, and all Northview sponsors, thank you for supporting me and giving me love unconditionally; nothing would have been the same without you guys. And to my precious subscribers, thank you for subscribing to the newsletter "no one reads."  Warmest regards, xtine <3

Eric Yao, GJCL Editor:
Since a platypus produces both eggs and milk, it's basically a walking dispenser for omelettes.

Helen Liu, GJCL Historian:
Hey Georgia! It's my privilege and pleasure being your historian this year and capturing as many memories as I could. Thank you all, my friends, my board, my chapter (go 'ders!). the rest of the state lol, for your support. E corde, Helen Liu.

Sanjay Srihari, GJCL Webmaster:
Thank you all for a wonderful year in the GJCL. Even though we didn't get to have convention, it was still amazing to see all the JCL spirit.

Ashley Gaytan, GJCL Hostess:
This has been an unexpected year for the GJCL, but we made it work to the best of our ability. I'm so glad to have worked with the wonderful 2019-2020 board, and though I am sad to see them go, I also look forward with lots of enthusiasm to working with the new board. With that in mind, peace out Girl Scouts. And remember, semper ubi sub ubi!
