To our Water Ski & Wakeboard Alberta Members:
Our mission at WSWA is to promote the participation and excellence in all aspects of towed water sports in Alberta by offering programs and events from grassroots to competitive. We worked hard over the winter to develop a 2020 season full of activities across Alberta, in all disciplines, and for all skill levels, and we were excited to launch that programming as soon as the ice melts. We were literally setting up our booth at the Edmonton Boat Show when everything came to a halt.

The COVID-19 pandemic and related restrictions have put our season on hold. This is a very difficult time for all of us. Your health and safety are most important, and we thank all of you who are helping where they can either as a front line worker or by doing your part to social distance. We do not yet know the full impact of COVID-19 on our 2020 programming, but we promise to keep you informed.

In the meantime however, if you are able, we would like you to consider renewing your membership with Water Ski & Wakeboard Alberta. As you know, a large part of the funding we use to deliver our programming comes from Alberta Sport Connection and is driven, in part, by our membership statistics.

Please take a moment to renew your 2020 membership (and check out the new membership platform that has been launched nationwide).

In an effort to support our members during this time, we have launched a Member Discount Program offering discounts on things you may need now to help ease the impact of stay at home measures and discounts on items that may be of interest to you in the future. More details will be shared next week and will also be on our website -- www.wswa.ca

We are looking forward to when we are all able to Live the Lake Life and get back on the water to do the sports we love.

ABOUT THE TEAMS:
The Alberta Wake Teams represent athletes who have a desire and commitment to excel in Wake Sport disciplines. In 2020, the Provincial Teams will include wakesurf and wakeboard.

We have a Competitive Team and a Development Team!

OPPORTUNITIES:
Being on the team grants many opportunities for skill development, including:

having unique early season training opportunities with professional coaches
the chance to become an official
ongoing coaching and mentorship opportunities
involvement in the wake sports community at events
and support for attending events and training
