As we begin this new day, we pray that this finds you all doing well. We pray each day for God's love and protection to surround you. We are hoping that you are finding ways to stay connected. At Spirit of Joy we will continue to provide daily devotionals, Tuesday morning music, Thursday Music Worship..... and every Sunday, a live streaming of worship together at 9am. Through Al Rogers we are setting up an opportunity for you to join home groups for a look at “The Chosen”, a series on the ministry of Jesus. There will be an opportunity for online discussion too. Directions are shared below for all those who would like to join in the conversation.

- Are you looking for new ways to avoid cabin fever?
- Do you want something you can focus your energy on that will save you from boredom and benefit the church?
Well – look no further! Why not make some items to sell at the Spirit of Joy Arts and Crafts Festival? That’s right, an arts and crafts festival to raise some extra money for the church building has been scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2020. That might seem like a long time from now, but now is a great time to plan and get started on your beautiful items to make and sell.
Need ideas? Just take a look at Pinterest, and your head will be filled with ideas. Don’t know how? Take a look at a few videos on YouTube, and you will be off and running. Join SOJ’s Watch Party: The Chosen
You have probably seen several movies about the life of Jesus. We want to share with you a movie that is at the top of our list of “Jesus movies.” The new crowd-funded, 8-part film, The Chosen is remarkable for telling highlights of His story in a tender and touching manner while being faithful to the Gospel accounts. We believe you will fall in love with Jesus all over again when you see this film.
Our SOJ Home Group ministry has purchased a batch of DVDs that we want to share with you… even if you are not a Home Group participant. This week, each Home Group household will receive a Chosen DVD. Over the coming weeks, their Home Group leader will schedule a time for their group to meet online, through video conferences or text chats, to discuss each of the eight episodes.
Moreover, we want to share The Chosen with your household… and invite you to join in with one of our home groups to discuss it. To obtain your own DVD, send email to SOJChosen@sojchurch.com with names of household participants, address, and phone number.
The only “catch” is that when you are finished, we ask you to share this DVD with a neighbor, friend, or relative… or return it us so that can we pass it along. |

We have ongoing WEEKLY expenses of almost $5,500 to meet our general expense obligations, including rent, payroll, insurance, utilities, and much more. Please prayerfully consider increasing your weekly commitment to compensate for the normal incidental offerings from visitors and occasional attenders that we won't receive during this time of "social distancing."

CAPITAL FUNDING CAMPAIGN UPDATE
