Special: How psychological wellbeing & sense of purpose keep employees connected

Welcome to our third weekly newsletter from Robertson Cooper offering free resources to support mental health and wellbeing during the coronavirus pandemic.

In weeks one and two we introduced a framework to help employers navigate the psychological stages of this crisis. Our focus has been on personal resilience as we all move from the initial shock at what was happening into a period of prolonged disruption. A huge thank you to all of those who have provided positive feedback on these resources… If you have missed our previous newsletters, you can find all the resources and tools we have offered throughout this time here, on our Coronavirus Mental Health and Wellbeing Resources page.

In this week's edition we release the 2nd in our series of recorded webinars by our Founding Director, Prof. Ivan Robertson. In this one Ivan drills down and looks at the psychological challenges of all four stages of the crisis as he sees them – there are practical takeaways for employers and employees at each stage.

There's also a reminder about the importance of Social Health and staying connected in Part 2 of our Managing Director, Ben Moss’ blog post which includes a spin-off action planning resource for employees to download and assess the key components of their own Social Health.
It enables them to understand and assess what's challenging their social health at this unique moment in history and helps them plan what to do to protect it.

As always, stay safe and let us know if we can support you further.

How to navigate the pandemic.  What does the wellbeing science tell us?  From our Founding Director, Professor Ivan Robertson.

Continuing to draw on the model Robertson Cooper has developed to help navigate the psychological stages of the crisis, Co-Founder Professor Ivan Robertson uncovers the sources of pressure that need managing at each stage so that you can support your employees and, in turn, they can support themselves more effectively.
The equation is obviously very different for employees who are working in very new circumstances versus those who are furloughed and therefore, effectively, in limbo – our hope is that the principles Ivan introduces here can illuminate some priorities for both cases.

Part 2: Social Health: How do you maintain it during lockdown?

Last week, Ben Moss, the Managing Director of Robertson Cooper, gave us Part 1 of his blog looking at how the spotlight is now on social health. This week, he looks specifically at social health and work during life in lockdown and introduces a new social health toolkit for employees
