 ClimeFish Newsletter
Letter from the Coordinator
Dear friends,

The ClimeFish project has come to an end.

I wish to thank all our stakeholders, comprising of industry representatives, policy makers, NGO representatives and scientists outside the consortium (including CERES sister project participants). You made the ClimeFish exploitable outcomes possible by scoping, validating, collaborating and co-creating in several workshops, meetings and events.

Special thanks to stakeholders involved in the Greek and the Hungarian aquaculture cases, and the West of Scotland fisheries case, who assisted us in developing case specific decision support tools in addition to Climate Adaptation Plans.

Representatives from DG Research and Innovation, DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, DG Climate Action, and DG Environment have provided feedback and kept us updated on policy processes to which we could contribute. An example is our input to the revision process of the “EU technical guidelines for multi annual plans for aquaculture”. We have also enjoyed positive cooperation with Climate-ADAPT and the Thetis supporting team.

On a more informal note, I would like to highlight the efforts by 12 ClimeFish scientists in becoming parents to a total of 15 babies (!) over the past 4 years – while having central roles in the project. Special thanks to you, but also to all ClimeFish researchers who stepped in and shared responsibilities to ensure that events were conducted, outcomes produced, and deliverables submitted on time.

I also wish to thank our External Advisory Group experts who were very supportive and continually provided constructive critique and advice. Finally, I wish to thank you, the reader of this newsletter, for following our project from start to finish.

We have lived four exciting years filled with challenges, achievements, new colleagues and friends. I will miss everyone involved in the project, but I hope we stay in touch and meet through new collaborative initiatives in the future.

Sincerely,
Michaela Aschan
