New Online Offerings To Get Your Script Going or Your Creativity Flowing

Hi friends,

As we navigate the second month of this crisis, we know that even if you're safe and healthy -- as we hope you all are -- many of you are getting a little stir crazy or struggling to keep up morale. Even our dog is feeling the stress -- she wants to run and play, but she can't. We take her for extra long walks, and we've resorted to letting her run back and forth in the parking garage when no one's around. During this time, it's been great to see how many artists and entertainers have made themselves available online in order to help everyone cope with the solitude and loneliness.

We can't compete with a Lady Gaga living room performance, but we want you to stay motivated, productive, and creative. So we've added our own offerings to the mix -- including our very first online workshops, plus free salons and writer hangouts.

Hearthside Salons

As Heidi wrote in our last newsletter, we launched our Hearthside Salons -- online chats with amazing and inspiring people. Tuesday, we're hosting a discussion with Sarah Yeomans (Professor, Archeologist & Research Specialist in Ancient Medicine) and Rob Latimer (Historian & Writer) as they examine how storytelling changed after past pandemics, and what might happen after Covid-19.

Writers Lunch

Every Wednesday, at 12 noon PT, we host a free online Writers Lunch, offering feedback, support, and the company of other writers. What do you need? How can we help? Join us for free!

Concept to Pages Online Workshop

Our current Concept to Pages workshop in Los Angeles started as an in-person group but Covid-19 forced us online. Although we missed hanging out together, the workshop ran very well in the virtual world -- so much so that the group has already filled our new Advanced Concept to Pages workshop to capacity.

If you’re ready to get a new script started, or to roll up your sleeves for an in-depth rewrite, our next Concept to Pages workshop starts online Saturday May 2 and runs through June 20, with a bonus table read session on June 27. We'll use tools we designed to help you nail your character and story, and then move into pages.
