As staying-in continues to change our routines and the way we exercise, its worth keeping in mind some of the principles of how to keep moving.


I'm teaching Pilates mat classes online via Zoom - see details below. I'm also offering personalised Pilates programme targeted to meet specific needs.

Reminder to Warm-up


When we are trying to snatch a bit of time to move, this can lead to throwing ourselves into exercise and risking injury. Taking the time to warm-up prepares us physically, mentally and can be dynamic and fun.

Warming-up before exercising has huge benefits with how exercise makes us feel. If we are doing less movement variation in our day its also a great way to evaluate how to tune into how our body is feeling and to get ready.

The benefits


The warm up increases core temperature and improves:
  • Blood flow to the muscles.
  • Ease of movement within the muscles and soft tissues.
  • Increases the ability of the muscles to exert force and produce power
  • Takes your joints through an increased range of motion in preparation for your main exercises.
Let the movement do the work for you rather than forcing it.

Focusing on using your breathing and an even rhythm of movement can help improve mobility and activation of muscles.

Pilates is mainly low intensity exercise and is perfectly suited to maintaining mobility and physical health.
