UPDATE on URP's March 13 Statement on COVID-19
The health and safety of the people working in University Research Park is of the upmost priority. As we collectively monitor and react to the news of the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to make you aware of steps University Research Park is taking and offer some recommendations of precautionary steps you can take at your own companies.
URP is:
- Continuing to abide by Gov. Evers updated Safer at Home Order, Emergency Order #28
- Conference rooms remain closed, congregating in common areas prohibited
- Continuing to follow CDC and WI DHS guidelines for environmental cleaning
- Planning to inform tenants of known/suspected cases in their building
- Monitoring public health authority guidance
- Monitoring occupancy at our buildings in order to determine if closings are necessary

Plasma from recovered COVID-19 patients tested as therapy at UW Health

A COVID-19 patient at UW Hospital has received the first transfusion of plasma from a local patient who donated it since recovering from the disease.
The UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and UW Health are part of a nationwide effort to study whether plasma from people who have recovered from COVID-19 given to patients who are seriously ill with the disease can help shorten the duration or severity of their illness..

Badger facilities lit in blue to honor pandemic workers

Finalists in Gov’s Biz Plan Contest poised to be part of economic recovery post-COVID

Twenty-eight entries representing sectors as broad as health technologies and innovations in products or services are competing in the finalist round of the 17th annual Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest.
“It will be young companies such as those advancing in this year’s contest that will help to lead the economic recovery once COVID-19 recedes in Wisconsin and elsewhere,” said Greg Lynch, chairman of the Tech Council and a partner at the law firm of Michael Best.
