Cornell Fencing

Hello Cornell Fencing Family!

I hope you are all staying inside & staying safe to the best of your respective abilities. I was in Ithaca wrapping up some of my research until about a week ago - since then, I've been on Long Island with Owen Sconzo's family. We are passing the time inside by Zooming into our online classes, keeping up with assignments, working out, cooking, and playing games. Recently, I've been having a lot of fun playing the virtual reality game Beat Saber! It's a game that involves slicing red and blue blocks with red and blue lightsabers to the beat of a song. I won't lie, I think my fencing skills give me a big advantage... here's a video of me playing!

We all miss our friends and teammates a great deal. Since our year was cut off so abruptly, we are sad that we were not able to give Zach and our seniors the sendoff they so deserved. As a result, I am looking forward toward next year’s season and a time when we can honor our coach and teammates properly. In light of that - I wanted to take the time to thank YOU for your Giving Day generosity  - it really makes a difference. For example, this year, for the first time ever, we were able to fly to Chicago for Northwestern’s meet, where we took down #1-seated Princeton! Pretty awesome. Without your support, none of that would be possible in the upcoming season.

Anyway, we would love to hear from you! If there's anything our team can do to help, please reach out.

Cheers from quarantine!
