April 19, 2020 (Minneapolis) The Minneapolis Police Department has made an arrest in connection to multiple criminal sexual assault cases that occurred in Minneapolis from 2015-2020. The MPD Violent Criminal Apprehension Team arrested JORY DANIEL WIEBRAND, 34-year-old male, on Friday, April 17, 2020 in Anoka County.
 

Through investigative efforts and evidence obtained, several criminal sexual conduct cases have been linked to Wiebrand. These assaults occurred mainly in SE Minneapolis and the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood area from 2015-2020. “Today, we recognize above all the victim surviors, for their strength and their courage, and we thank them for their patience and the faith that they put in us,” said Lt. Darcy Horn, MPD Sex Crimes Unit.
 

The MPD Sex Crimes Unit has presented one criminal sexual conduct case and one burglary case to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office for consideration of possible charges; additional cases are expected to be submitted to Hennepin County Attorney’s office over the next few weeks.
 

The MPD as well as local, state and federal law enforcement agencies have worked together tirelessly on these cases over the past few years. “There were a multitude of investigators within the MPD and within other jurisdictions that would not rest until we found this individual. A lot of detectives and officers put their heart and soul into these cases,” said Minneapolis Police Deputy Chief Erick Fors.
 

The MPD would like to recognize and thank the following agencies for their time and dedication to making this arrest:
