DRINKING WELL TO FIGHT THE BOREDOM
It’s encouraging to see people putting their pennies into drinking well at home in these bizarre times. We’re being inundated with amazing wines at the moment and they’re out the door as fast as they came in. After Cornelissen last week and Gut Oggau the week before, we’re priming for Ganevat this week along with Manon and Jauma, some of our absolute favourites. Who knows what wonders are around the corner next week or the one after that. We’re on the road almost every day in Melbourne so as long as you get orders in by 1pm you’ll be sorted shortly after, free, no minimum. It’s madness!
NEW JAUMA, FRESH LIKE RAINDROPS

A new Jauma release is always a joy and this particular release has a few of the greats. A pair of silky gorgeous reds, Like Raindrops Grenache and Ralph’s Shiraz, plus a super interesting Blewitt Springs Chenin that sees a bit of skin contact to dial up the texture and tension. James hasn’t used sulfur in years and these wines are so well put together you would never even think of it, a real master at work. Just really fresh and pure wines with nothing constraining them, they drink as well on the second day after opening and are always beautifully balanced. Astounding value really, these wines are very sought after abroad and command pretty high prices, but James hasn’t really raised his prices here much over the last few years because he’s an honest laid-back dude, so you can enjoy these very good wines for under $40. A real treat that you won’t feel guilty about.
BLIND CORNER, PERIPHERAL VISION

Many of you may be familiar with the wines of Blind Corner, Ben and Naomi Gould have been making slightly left of centre, lofi wines in Margaret River since way before it was cool. Certified Biodynamic and Organic, they use concrete eggs, Georgian qvevri and old oak barrels and add nothing but a touch of sulfur at bottling. While Margaret River is hallowed ground in Australia's premium wine trade, most of these wineries couldn't hold a candle to the authenticity and sense of place that you get from Ben's hands off approach. There are may reasons to celebrate this, and the value has to be near the top. Their entry cuvées Rouge and Blanc are a mad steal and their Nouveau Shiraz and Pet Nat are full of interest and fun.
GANEVAT INCOMING!

Already a living legend, Jean-Francois Ganevat is in the (non-existent) wine hall of fame. Certainly a god in the world of fine white wines, but increasingly loved for his menagerie of negociant cuvées which enjoy all the care and genius of his estate wines, though most often slightly shorter hang-time in barrel/amphora.

We're very excited to have a large selection incoming this week and will be posting details to our instagram so keep your eyes peeled if you know what's what...
SUSUCARU RESTOCK

Whaaaat. In an unheard-of situation, we've managed to get another 2 dozen Susucaru Rosso, after the first 2 dozen sold out in a few hours last week. Have at it! But be quick.
FREE SAME DAY DELIVERY TUE-SAT

We've gone from recommending wines to our customers in shops to spilling hot 7-11 coffee in our laps while trying to read the Gregory's. We've added Tuesdays into the mix so now we're delivering every afternoon except Sunday and Mondays. If you're within 15km of Melbourne CBD and order before 1pm you'll get the wine before dinner time FREE.
SUBSCRIPTION WINE
SERVICE

We have from the outset prided ourselves on having the best monthly subscription wine service in the game. We take this so seriously that each and every month we convene a panel of expert wine industry folk around a cheese board at Sam's house for a tasting selection panel. No punches are pulled, frankly it's brutal. So the wines that go in our monthly packs are certified FIRE.
