Fill out the ESC demographic form!

ESC is the Engineering Student Council, a group of Berkeley Engineering student representatives. They are collecting important demographic info to show who makes up the engineering community -- you can help by filling it out and letting them know that you are a part of AWE!

If enough AWE members fill out the form, we will be ESC-affiliated!

Let's go!

COVID-19 & Campus Student Resources

Student Emergency Needs Fund

The College of Engineering and Engineering Student Services have set up the Engineering Student Emergency Needs Fund and a process to review requests and distribute urgently needed financial aid.

Apply here!

Technology Discounts and Financial Aid Adjustments

Take advantage of special student discounts on devices from major retailers. If you need additional funds to purchase a computing device, you may request a cost of living adjustment through the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office.

Laptop and WiFi Hotspot Lending Program

If the technology resources you have available to you do not enable your effective participation in remote instruction or other academic work, visit the Laptop and WiFi Hotspot Lending Program page for information on the university’s lending program and access to discounts.

Stay Well Together

Through the newly launched Stay Well Together initiative, students can find a comprehensive directory of resources on and off-campus to support their overall wellness.
On-Campus Opportunities

5th Year MIDS Program

We at the UC Berkeley School of Information (I School) are so excited to welcome our second 5th Year MIDS cohort this fall! We can't wait to continue assisting Cal undergrads with accelerating their career paths and achieving their dreams.

Because graduating students' work and internships situations have changed due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, we have had increasing interest in 5th Year MIDS, and requests to be considered for this Fall 2020.

We are delighted to share that, in response to this demand, we are offering a third application deadline of June 1 at 8:59pm PST. Also, given that students may currently be experiencing higher than usual financial strain, we will be waiving application fees. In order to waive your application fee, simply select "Credit Card" as your payment method in your application. Please do not submit payment. Apply today; see 5th Year MIDS Application Requirements

You can start your admissions application here.

Industry Opportunities

Roblox is hiring!

Roblox has decided to expand their intern program in light of the impact of COVID-19 on students. They are currently hiring Engineering Interns and Design Interns for Summer 2020. If you have any questions, please contact internships@roblox.com.

AVALaunch Hackathon

I am reaching out on behalf of AVA Labs - a leading blockchain platform spun out of Cornell and led by Professor Emin Gün Sirer.

We are hosting a month-long virtual hackathon for the top computer science and engineering students across the country to develop new applications for financial products and services, and build infrastructure tools that could someday be used by millions of people on the AVA platform.

In addition to student employment opportunities and early exposure to the most anticipated blockchain launch of 2020, you’ll have the opportunity to compete for $50,000 in prizes.
