We trust this newsletter finds you healthy and that you and your families are keeping safe. We are looking forward to getting back to some pickleball, but we just don’t know when exactly. It is most likely that outdoor pickleball will start up locally before any indoor pickleball. SDBC Pickleball is looking into reserving times for outdoor evening pickleball. Although we are not sure what measures Delta Parks will require for use of outdoor courts, the focus will be on the safety of all our players. Our games may have a different look than what we are used to. Once again, if anyone has a need or would like prayer, please let us know by getting in touch with us at pickleball@southdelta.org .

Next Zoom online meeting at 8PM on Monday, May 4th
We would like to invite you to our zoom online meetings planned for May. It's a great opportunity to see and catch up a little with some of those you played pickleball with down here at SDBC. Our first zoom online meeting is this coming Monday, May 4th at 8PM with Landon as our host. Our second one is planned for two weeks after that on May 18th. If you are all interested in joining us and seeing some of your fellow pickleballers, then please feel free to follow the instructions below.
1. Go to zoom.us and sign up for a free account. You can use your personal email account. Once your account is set up, you will be instructed to download a Zoom app that will run on your computer. Follow the instructions and log in. There are also instructional videos if you have never used Zoom.
2. You will also need to check the settings to make sure that your camera and microphone are set up. This can be done from your computer, tablet, android, or iOS phone. Your PC is best as you will be able to see all the faces at once that are on the call.
3. If this is your first Zoom meeting, click this link here. It is a tutorial on how to access the link we will be sending this weekend.
Once you have a free Zoom account, here is the information you will need to join the SDBC Pickleball scheduled meeting for this Monday. You will receive another invite for the meeting later in the month.

Update on Starfish
Last month, Starfish, the school food program for students living in South Delta, was briefly put on hold when schools were closed. The program is now up and running along with some changes. The program has expanded as you might expect with more children and families in need. Generous donations have allowed this expansion to happen. To accommodate social isolating protocols, there are now just two volunteers that pack up students’ weekly packages of food in their garage. Once packed, they deliver them to three elementary schools in Tsawwassen and to two schools in Ladner. Many thanks goes to these volunteers.
