Greetings Prayer Team,
As of now, the coronavirus is keeping us mainly in our homes and practicing social distancing. I am assuming that will still be happening for most throughout this month. There is much God wants us to learn during this phase of life for us all - and some of it is in the realm of "refining" our lives. The Psalmist says, "Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word" (Ps. 119:67). Insight and wisdom will allow suffering to push us to greater obedience.
Please do pray to that end for all the MWD.

Praise:
- It is my belief that more people in the Midwest District heard the Gospel (via technology) this past Easter than any other day in history! (Rom. 8:28)
- Many of us have been able to think about and make adjustments focusing on that which is "most important" in life.
- For some churches, giving has increased during the pandemic.
- Thanks for the first responders, those on the front lines (doctors, nurses, all hospital workers), the truckers, the workers at grocery stores, garbage collectors, those keeping our electricity and water going and many more that are enabling most of us to stay home.
- The MWD Board meeting on April 18th went well via ZOOM.
Prayer/Major Ministry Dates:
So far, the coronavirus has prevented me from scheduling personal meetings and church meetings for May. Hopefully, during this month, scheduling actually can begin again.
May 3: The TEAM 4:18 run in Wichita will not be happening.
There will be ZOOM meetings for MWD Ministry Staff and for the EFCA District Superintendents. I will be calling, emailing, and texting many pastors.
- Pray for the defeat of and recovery from the coronavirus.
- Pray for wise actions by the governing authorities during this time.
- Pray that I can effectively lead, guide, coach, encourage MWD pastors and leaders from my home office.
- Pray for insight and wisdom when we do return to whatever our "new normal" will be. That we will not go back to all of the "old normal" - but that there will be some wonderful, positive changes in our lives as we move forward.
- Pray for Craig Cedar (Pastor of Wilcox Community Church, NE) as he is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.
- Pray for the many churches who are struggling financially.
- Pray for new donors for the MWD ministries.
Thank you for your faithful prayers,
Noah
