Mingo Fishtrap isn't letting a little social distancing keep them from getting the band together. From Austin, Texas to Winnipeg, Manitoba, with side trips to Nashville, Tennessee and Newark, Delaware, they played in studios and living rooms, garages and back yards, and magically put the record together to make it sound like they were all on the same stage, joined - from a distance - by Special Guests Delbert McClinton and Ariel Posen, along with Doyle and Debbie, and other celebrities.  Watch it here!

Our friend, Jay Curlee is up against a serious deadline on the capstone of his life's work, a documentary of Donn's Depot, a dance bar in Austin. Most Sandy Beaches Cruisers and Delbert fans recognize Jay as The Guy with complete access to every stage, to chronicle every magical moment.
(See his "Rocking The Boat: A Musical Conversation and Journey" on Amazon)
You may not have been to Donn's Depot, but you have likely been to places like it, a music lover's kind of "Cheers" bar -where everybody knows everybody and no one's a stranger. And the dance floor has just the right amount of sawdust.
We were already losing these institutions, and COVID-19
is going to take a major hit on these establishments.
Please consider a small - or large - donation to Jay's project.
And help us spread the word.
Delbert and Dick50 perform "People Just Love to Talk" for Texas Music Scene, a syndicated music show. Get your own copy of the song on Delbert's album, Acquired Taste, produced by Don Was.

'American Idol' finals
One of SBC's favorite newcomers,  Lauren Mascitti made it to the Finals in this season's American Idol. The judges said she was gorgeous, classic and classy, and "showed her rocking' side," with her version of Delbert's "Two More Bottles of Wine."   One of Delbert's most recorded songs, it  has been covered by artists including Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Martina McBride, and of course, Emmylou Harris, who had a
#1 hit with it
in 1978, more than
forty years ago.  This autobiographical song took twenty minutes to write, but has stood the test of time.
