As we begin a new month, and a new week, we pray this finds everyone well and safe. These have been some of the most difficult of times, and each day we give thanks to God for a new day, a new beginning, and continued hope for our future.
We have so much to be thankful for in our lives together as God's family at Spirit of Joy. May we be reminded of that every day as we seek to minister to one another. In the days ahead we will continue with daily devotions 8am, Tuesday music 9am, Thursday Music Worship 6pm, and live stream Worship every Sunday at 9am.
Your church council will begin the discussion of what it means to open up our worship and ministry doors at Spirit of Joy in the future. Certainly much will be different. We will look for ways to bring us together, keep us safe, and help everyone feel secure and comfortable.
In the meantime, we continue to encourage your connection with each other. Plan to make a call today, and each day, letting others know of your care and concern for them. We are looking for additional ways to connect during the week with everyone too. Our Home Groups are engaged in the study of "The Chosen", a series on the life and ministry of Jesus. If you would like to join in, let the church office know and we will get you the DVD. We will also be looking at a possible "Zoom" approach to our Bible Studies or even a coffee break and a time of open conversation. (See note below regarding Monday morning bible study!)
Please remember Spirit of Joy each week. Your regular giving to the ministry of the church gives us the opportunity to do ministry each day. We thank you for your benevolence and continued giving. Our Capital Building Campaign will resume its effort with Commitment Sunday to be established when we return to worship in person. But, we continue to have building expenses that need to be met. Please consider your "over and above" giving to the building fund.
We are blessed with an incredible church family. May God be with everyone as we move through these days. May we always know that God is ever present, and always with us.

Monday Bible Zoom Meetings Begin May 11
On Monday, May 11, at 8:00 AM, we will begin Zooming our Monday Morning Bible Study.
Because of "Zoom bombing" problems we have read about, we will send complete meeting details directly to all regular Monday morning attenders.

SUPPORT OUR YOUTH!
Trevor Stemper is preparing to spend his third summer a volunteer for Sonshine Ministries on Lake Shasta. The Sonshine Ministry experience is unique among camping ministries. There is no other youth ministry that better trains, equips, and develops young people to serve and lead in ministry to others.
 Volunteer staff members must raise $600 for student camping scholarships. They usually do this through their Memorial Day Run-Jog-Walk-A-Thon. Since that event may not occur, Trevor is appealing for direct contributions to Sonshine Ministries to meet his obligation.
