New initiative encourages locals to support locals

Cessnock City Council have partnered with local business chambers and associations to launch a new campaign aimed at encouraging community support for businesses across the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA).

The ‘Support Local’ campaign has been designed to raise awareness of the importance of shopping and buying local during these difficult times. A key component of the campaign is harnessing the power of social media to promote businesses within the LGA.  Read more...

$10,000 grants available for eligible businesses 

Coming off the back of the Nation’s most devastating bushfire season and now the COVID-19 shutdown, thousands of small businesses across NSW are struggling to cope in these unprecedented times.

Did you know that your small business may be eligible to apply for grants of up to $10,000?

The NSW Government will put $750 million into the Small Business Support Fund as the centrepiece of a third wave of support measures to keep small businesses afloat during the COVID crisis.  Read more...

WANT TO BE INVOLVED? Here's how to get started!

Your Locals Supporting Locals Tool Kit is designed to encourage your own creative ideas.
You can easily access the images and logos, and supplement the main campaign with your own messages on your website, social media, mobile advertising and even on local radio or television channels.
The tool kit includes the following advertising material for you to use at your leisure during the campaign:
o A3 Posters – personalised to each local area. Two versions have been prepared, targeting      consumers and employers.
o Window Stickers
o Social Media Graphics
o Bin sign designs

It's Competition time - Support Local!

It's simple, all you need to do is share a photo of YOU, shopping in your favourite Cessnock Local Government Area business to Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #supportlocalcessnock

How to enter:
1. Take a photo shopping with your favourite Cessnock Local Government Area business.
2. Post to Instagram or Facebook (ensure your privacy setting is set to 'public').
3. Identify or introduce the business (tag or name them in your post).
4. Hashtag - ensure you use #supportlocalcessnock in your post.
5. Repeat the process! Enter as many times as you like!

Whats up for grabs?!
Every month an Advance Cessnock City representative will choose five of their favourite photos, these will be re-posted, and the winner will receive a $100 gift card.

Promotion Dates 
The promotion will run from May to September 2020.
