    • Intentional riding means you are riding with a purpose in mind.
    • We are challenging all 4-H riders to complete a 12 week, at-home riding challenge.
    • The goal is 15 rides equaling 20 hours with your project horse. This is a nice solution to continue your horsemanship journey while also staying safe.
    • To join this challenge have you or your parents follow the official facebook page HERE and 1. State your goals for you and your horse. 2. Upload conformation pictures of your horse. 3. Every time you ride upload a picture, tell us how long you've ridden for, and your most successful part of your ride.
    • We will be providing tips, patterns, and so on to help everyone in their journey.
Hippology
  • Hippology is the study of horses. That's right, a place just to geek out over equines! We will cover a myriad of topics including anatomy, physiology, behavior, equipment, management, and training.
  • Hippology is designed for youth ages 10+ and offers a state competition for youth ages 11 and up. Our meetings are mixed between classroom learning and hands-on lessons with our partnership barns, Appy Acres LLC & Kozland Farm.
  • For the time being we have moved to a virtual school format! We aim to have weekly lessons, videos, quizzes, and so on so that we can continue our learning at-home. To join the virtual class (if you haven't already) simply e-mail Ms. Kelsey.
  • If you have done ANY of the Hippology Virtual School assignments, please fill out this survey
  • For more information about this program, contact Ms. Kelsey at 904-530-6354 or kelseymirvine@ufl.edu.

Virtual 4-H Club Meetings
Just because 4-H club meetings can’t be “in-person,” it doesn’t mean clubs can’t meet!  There are several free, user friendly ways to have face-to-face club meetings in a virtual format.  After all, if you can still see each other, it’s still face-to-face! A sense of belonging (heart), is one of the most important elements of 4-H. Now more than ever, 4-H youth need connection with one another and especially with their 4-H club leaders.  Teach The Agent
Ms. Kelsey & Mr. Ted are knowledgeable about many things, but there are lots of 4-H'ers that know about topics we aren't! We are offering up a fair point opportunity to youth who can teach our agents about something.

  • The Teach the Agent sessions will need to be scheduled in advance and should last  5-15 minutes. Depending on the topic we can come to you!
