Notice To All Residents:

Community Update

Dear Resident(s),

The Gateway tulips have bloomed and look incredible! Make sure to take a look and snap some photos!

We truly appreciate everyone's cooperation and continuing efforts as we all practice Social Distancing. Once again, we want to remind everyone of the following:
  • Wear face coverings when leaving your apartment.
  • Elevator Etiquette is improving, but we're not there yet. We need to practice having three people or fewer in an elevator at a time, excluding a family with small children.
  • Please do not leave any personal items in the hallways.
  • Packages need to be picked up, or make arrangements so we can bring your packages to your apartment.
  • Scooters, bicycles, roller skates, etc. are not to be used in the lobby or common areas.
  • Dog Etiquette also has room for improvement. Refrain from letting your dogs do their business in the stairwells. If your dog has an accident, you are responsible for cleaning it up.
  • Laundry Room Etiquette is incredibly important. Wear a face covering, remove your clothes once a cycle is done, and if the room is crowded please try again in an hour.
  • Non-Flushable items continue to be a problem. Please be cognizant of what you are flushing. We are experiencing increases in sink and toilet clogs throughout the community.
  • Moving Arrangements can be made. Please contact the Gateway Management Office (maintenance@gatewayny.com) at your earliest convenience for requests related to moving out, or receipt of large deliveries requiring an elevator reservation. The last few days and the first few days of each month book up quickly. With reduced moving company availability it is important to ensure an elevator is available on the day(s) you are looking to make a reservation.
Last night's 7:00pm celebration in honor of all our front line workers was the best yet. Let's make tonight even better! In addition to our wonderful Healthcare, FDNY, NYPD, and other front line professionals we would like to honor all of you. We know this has not been easy for anyone, but we recognize and appreciate each of you. The outpouring of generosity, compassion, and overall sense of community has been incredible.

Tonight, let's turn it up a notch again! Last night our resident Gateway trumpet player did an awesome rendition of "Saint Come Marching In." We are listening and we love it!

Building Operations Update

It hasn't been easy, but Gateway building staff is holding up well. There are twenty plus employees that have been "Ironmen", missing only two days or less since this crisis began. We greatly appreciate all of the kind words and gestures directed toward the Gateway building staff. The GoFundMe page created by a resident for the Gateway front line workers has been a huge success, and we are extremely grateful.

The building staff continues to focus on frequent daily cleanings of all high touch areas. We continue to have ample protective equipment for all building staff. We also have  a very good supply of hand sanitizer, medical grade disinfectants and bleach products to help us complete increased cleaning of all high-touch surfaces and common areas. With the increased common area disinfecting procedures, you may experience some collateral scents in your apartment. Such issues should dissipate quickly. We want to make sure we continue to provide a level of cleaning required to keep Gateway properly sanitized. We are also continuing to bring in outside contractors to perform special cleanings. These cleanings include disinfectant application processes such as Clorox 360 and Purify treatments in common areas, elevators, laundry rooms, and stairwells.

Gateway Exterior Amenity Areas Update

The Roof Terrace and North Lawn Areas have been scheduled to reopen on Saturday, May 16th. Please note that the projected date for opening of both areas is subject to the state of affairs at that time. There will be restrictions in place for anyone utilizing these areas. We will share a separate communication with those specific guidelines.

Next week, we will continue cleaning and maintenance of the Roof Terrace and North Lawn areas. This work will include some pressure washing and hose use to properly clean furniture and surfaces. Over the next two weeks, we will be performing major cleanings of all exterior surfaces, entrances, interior courtyard spaces, and the front entrance area. As Gateway staff continue to step up detailed cleaning and disinfectant of all areas at Gateway, we ask that residents continue to be awesome by complying with the CDC and Gateway recommendations and directives.

Remember, if someone tells you to put on a mask or face covering, wait for the next elevator, or step aside, it is a request that benefits all of us.

We leave you with a saying from an unknown author:

Happiness
is the new rich.
Inner peace
is the new success.
Health
is the new wealth.
Kindness
is the new cool.

Regards,

Gateway Residential Management

Song of the Week – Dancing In The Moonlight by King Harvest
It reminds us of a place we all can dream about. It's okay to turn this up (a bit!) and dance around your apartment!
