Dear Razorbacks,
We know that COVID-19 and the impact of the stay at home order has been challenging for our community. We hope this newsletter finds you all safe, healthy, and managing as best as possible during these unprecedented times. Should your family be in need of anything, we want you would reach out to your PTA or your Hogg administration.

PTA Elections / Meeting Announcement

As the school year comes to an end for 2019-20, the PTA Board's term is also coming to an end. The 2020 Nominating Committee has forwarded the following slate of candidates for the 2020-21 Hogg MS PTA Board Elected Officers:

Teacher Appreciation Week May 4 - 8

Your PTA is working hard to get some treats out to our hardworking teachers to make them feel the Razorback love. We will be providing a catered lunch, some breakfast snacks, a virtual gift card, and other goodies all week long.
Here is how you can help: We want to create a video with students or parents (or both) talking about how much they appreciate our Hogg teachers.
Will you send us a video or photo of your student (or you) telling us why you appreciate our Hogg teachers (you can also hold up a sign)?
Please send your photo or short video to Kathi Peters at kathipeters@yahoo.com no later than Tuesday, May 5.

Attention 8th Grade Parents!

8th grade mom and professional photographer, Alicia Verdier, has volunteered to take photos of all of our graduating 8th graders!

Here are the details:

Alicia will come to your house and take a photo of your student on his/her front porch (or a nearby park) while maintaining social distance.
Alicia will compile the photographs into a slide that will be available for 8th graders to view.
Alicia's time and the slideshow will be free for all students.
Alicia is willing to travel to neighborhoods around Hogg up to approx. 5 miles. Even if you don't live within 5 miles of Hogg, please consider coming to a nearby park to have your photo taken and included in the slideshow.

8th graders - let's have some fun with this! Wear the outfit you wanted to wear to the masquerade ball, your favorite costume or sports uniform. Pose with your musical instrument or sports equipment, or hold up a sign with your well wishes. Be creative. This is your keepsake.

If you are interested, please contact Alicia at aliciaverdier@yahoo.com with your name and address (or park where you want to meet) by Friday, May 8th. Alicia will be in touch with a date and time for the photograph. (Be mindful of her time --she has 300 students to coordinate!)
We are also working on a photo book option so that the students can have a special 8th grade keepsake to remember this unique year! We will provide more details about the photobook as soon as possible. If you are interested in helping with the photobook, please let Alicia know!
