Special Edition 1st May 2020

A note from Damien

Kia ora Koutou,

Welcome to this, a Special Edition of The Pipeline, one that features a number of our local businesses.

The heart of The Mount is our community, it is characterised as strong, committed and passionate about the unique and special place we live. It is often described as having a village feel, it is with this in mind that we put a call out to local businesses who we could profile here and ask you, our community to support if at all possible.

We know that moving to Level 3 and eventually to Level 2 is not the end of challenges for these businesses but is really just the start for many of our local businesses as they look to rebuild and look after their teams along the way.

We as a school ask two things of you, do what you can to support and promote these businesses who support our school and our community. This could be through direct purchasing and spending with these businesses, or sharing of posts on social media and encouraging your group of friends to do the same.

This Covid19 threat has always been beatable together! Together we can not only beat Covid19 but we can also ensure The Mount rebuild gets back on its feet quickly.

Thanks for your support with this team and supporting the people who support our school and community.

Nicali, Ben, Warren, Sarah, Leigh, Juliet, Damien

The board has been keeping in touch online to help support Damien, the school's management team and the teachers during the Covid 19 crisis.  We would like to acknowledge the many, many hours of work that they have put in behind the scenes to navigate, adapt and respond to this crisis.  They've done an incredible job at preparing online learning, communicating with parents and most importantly looking after the health and wellbeing of our children.  So thank you!

The success of a school is influenced in part by the success of its community, and in our case, Mount Primary has been so fortunate to exist within a thriving community that has supported our school in so many ways over the years. However, many of these local businesses will be struggling and now it's our turn to return the favour and show them our loyalty and support. Please take every opportunity where you can to choose any of the businesses listed in this newsletter when you are shopping for products or services. We can make a difference and they will appreciate it during these challenging times.
