President Buhari has decided to adopt the herd immunity approach. The lockdown wasn't working due to starvation and a severe lack of financial aid, in addition to govt. corruption, no water, electricity, welfare, or stimulus packages, there's just zero infrastructure to support the population.
So Buhari has decided to take the extreme opposite approach of herd immunity - which if the virus spreads like wildfire, we're pretty much talking genocide. Both the lockdown and the herd immunity approach are the paths of least resistance and leave the masses exposed.
Oh! before I forget, baba b has done something, he's imposed an 8pm curfew. In a state such as Lagos which is smaller than the city of London, but inhabits around 16 million people, has no public transport options and legendary traffic jams... I guess the hooours long 'go-slow' will just disappear at 8pm 🤷🏾
Anyway, the thinking is since the youth account for the majority of Nigeria's population, the virus will kill-off society's weakest (i.e. the elderly, vulnerable, those with compromised immune systems and the poor).
So yeah, survival of the fittest, that's it'... that's the plan 🙆🏾♀️ #PrayForNigeria.
