Care Not Cages: Fighting for Our Incarcerated Youth
The legal system is putting the lives of our children in danger, and we must act now. Join us at a special Justice and Beyond meeting on Monday, May 4, at 5pm to learn more and speak out on this issue!

Black people across this country are being hit hard by COVID-19, especially our loved ones trapped in the legal system. Like adult jails and prisons, juvenile detention facilities are inherently high-risk environments where diseases and viruses can spread quickly. The legal system is putting the lives of our children in danger and we must act now.

Please join Black Futures Lab's Alicia Garza, along with Ernest Johnson of Ubuntu Village, Gina Womack of FFLIC, and Rev. Manning of Justice & Beyond for a very special virtual town hall on the impacts of this current crisis on incarcerated youth, how each of us can help, and why the Black Agen
da 2020 is exactly what we need to make Black people powerful in the legal system and beyond.

Our Youth In Secure Care Are Not Safe
There are over 30 cases of Covid-19 in Louisiana's youth prisons. In the words of one teen, "I am very scared right now... to occupy the roughly 24 hours I am alone in my room, I have been given one book, a deck of cards, a puzzle, and a word search."

Tell Governor John Bel Edwards to stop ignoring the problem and to #FreeOurYouth NOW!

Please Also Sign This Petition
We support this petition that was created by Families & Friends of Louisiana's Incarcerated Children (FFLIC). It calls for significant reform in the juvenile justice process in response to the spread of Covid-19.

Stay Safe and Take Care of Each Other
To Our Supporters: Please be safe and take care of yourselves and each other. This is a scary moment and we need each other more than ever, even if we can only be present virtually or over the phone. This time will pass. We love and care about you all and look forward to getting the village together again once it is safe to do so.
