Hello friends--

The Bulgarian government has a number of strategies to control the spread of Covid-19. Masks are required in all public places, including walking outside. Groups of no more than two people are allowed in public places or walking down the street. Sofia's large city parks have been closed for weeks.

Another strategy is to limit travel from one part of the country to another, unless required for work, medical reasons, or for specific activities such as maintaining the country's cell towers. Over half of the cases of Covid-19 are in Sofia, so the police at the checkpoints here are very strict.

Tomorrow, Raina and I hope to travel to Sliven to get our potatoes and beans planted. It is getting late in the season. We also plan to take food to few Roma churches in the area. Straightforward, right? But we will need to provide detailed documents to prove why and where we are going, proof of our employment . . . Humanly speaking, a lot of things could go wrong. And it could be a long wait. Hours. Now that I think of it, it's like crossing the border into another country!

Please pray today for God's blessing on our travel. We are eight or nine hours ahead of you, so hopefully we will be on the road before you get up Friday morning.

Thank you again for your partnership--

PS--In light of our plans, Raina and I got tested this week. Results for both of us were negative.
