"Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently."

Hello my friends,

We learned this week that many U.S. states will take the first steps towards reopening. While the length of quarantine has certainly become a political issue, there are strong arguments being made on both sides of the debate. I can't say what is the best course of action, but pray that our leaders will make wise decisions for the benefit of us all.

The travel industry remains at a standstill and I continue to shelter in place, but I do hope that the so-called curve will continue trending downward. I still believe that we could return to the skies this summer and that new cleaning practices instituted by airlines and hotels will promote increased health for us all once we have emerged from quarantine. I hope that our collective awareness of the importance of cleanliness will remain long after COVID-19 has been defeated.

What I'm working on

During quarantine, I'd like to make myself available in a new way — via telephone! Each week, I've set aside time to speak to readers like you about accessible travel. Click here to select a time and I'll give you a call!

Here are two exciting things I've been working on:
  • One of the key tools I use to maximize travel are airline miles and hotel rewards points. Yesterday, I laid out a plan to begin sharing that knowledge with you on the blog. Whether you travel every week or only once a year, everyone can benefit. I'll lift the veil and help you become a pro.
  • Next month, I will be launching a travel podcast that welcomes guests from all across the travel & tourism sector — everyday travelers, bloggers, employees at major travel companies, government officials, leaders from local tourism boards and more. We'll talk about accessibility, of course, but I hope to focus more on the other great things about travel: the food, activities, entertainment and more. Look out for more details in the next newsletter.
Will you share a story?

Every traveler has at least one amazing story to share, and I'd like to invite you to share one with me and the WheelchairTravel.org readers. Something you've seen, experienced or tasted would make for a great guest post. If you have a story, send me an email at mailbag@wheelchairtravel.org and I'll work with you to bring it to life.

Below, you'll find links to new articles that I hope you'll take a moment to read. As always, I welcome your feedback and comments.

All the best,
— John Morris
