News from WORK:
Life is a balancing act these days. A little bit of WORK, a little bit of play, a little bit of parenting. And also trying to be fully present in this historic moment. The great pandemic of 2020 will be one for the record books, and (hopefully) we can say, "We were there."

Life is also a bit like Groundhog Day. What day of the week is it? What month is it? Every morning feels the same. Now that we are extending our shelter-in-place plans through the end of May, we will be extending your coworking membership terms out, once again. To those of you who have been able to keep your WORK memberships going, a great big THANK YOU for your continued support. And to those of you who have had to cancel your memberships and are feeling your own financial pain, we send you so much LOVE.

I hope, someday soon, we are all back together again.

Thoughts from Julia:
Coronavirus: I find what's hardest is waking up to a beautiful spring day - bright sun, birds, the sound of a confused pair of ducks quacking on a still factory roof (strangely) and the immense silence of no traffic on the Boulevard...Spring - life blooming - while we cannot revel fully - we must hold back, stay back, protect ourselves...read on.

CANCELLED - Fri 5/1/20 - CRASH COURSE: Flourishing in These Unprecedented Times

I'm very sad to report that Steven Campbell contacted me early this morning to report he has a fever and a terrible cough, making it impossible for him to carry out his lecture today. In these times, these symptoms are obviously very scary so we are sending him our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

We hope to reschedule him in the future. In the meantime, you can check out his book and audio book here. I have listened to the audio book twice and have applied many of his strategies in my own life.

DocTalk From Home

A virtual conversation with filmmakers from DocLands 2020 moderated by Variety’s Andrew Barker. Conversations will showcase trailers of each film followed by an interactive Q&A with the directors.

Sun, May 3rd
4:00 PDT / 7:00 EDT

During the extraordinary circumstances we’re currently experiencing, they hope this 90-minute event will help showcase films that haven’t yet had public screenings or exposure beyond Sundance this year, and will prompt engaging conversations, as well as an exciting exchange of ideas between the filmmakers, moderator, and the streaming audience.

Presented by the California Film Institute, showcasing documentary film in a variety of genres and with a diversity of content, while exploring three main programming strands and highlighting films that transcend the traditional definition of the documentary—films that break form in terms of creativity and entertainment.
