Hi dance family,
PHEW....Its day I don't know what since COVID hit Philly...
Confusion, anger, despair, hope, excitement, inspiration constantly juggle in my psyche.
My dailiness is filled with new bruises, icing my head once a week and shouting matches.  No, I don't  live with an abusive partner. Our life now is dictated by my 3 and 6 year old ninjas. If I am sitting, or laying on the floor (which we dancers love to do) They are on top of me.  Thus the many bruises and icings that happen here.  Its funny, but also feels like loosing autonomy as a person, that is an issue many parents deal with, but now without school and outside care, it feels more prominent. In the moments when the ninjas are content - I dream about what's next.

I'm going LIVE on Sat. May 2nd at 11 am.
Before COVID, I had planned to teach a 6 week improv class...
Well, now I'm doing a half hour Facebook LIVE tutorial on how to make your virtual dance classes better.
THIS IS A LIFE HACK CLASS - so, I'll talk about how you can use your shoes, a bit of tape, and paper to make awesome online virtual classes.
TUNE IN on Saturday: https://www.facebook.com/BodyMeld/live

If you go on my Facebook before then and message me with specific questions, I'll try to include the answers in the Saturday steam.

NEWS, DREAMS on OTHER PROGRAMMING:
Get What you Need's final showing on May 30th will be going VIRTUAL.   That said, it definitely won't be a final showing.  We have been discussing the longevity of this program and the possibility of postponing the live show until as far as 2021.  So I'll keep you posted.
I'm on Instagram a lot - I am posting every day photos and videos of different works of mine (digital and live) on my @BodyMeld account.  If you are on Instagram, follow me there.  Today, I am starting an Instagram TV series of my rehearsals with Ravel's Bolero in my house...

Jeanine Durning in Philadelphia workshops are still on hold.  We have penciled in June 12, 13 and 14th as a possible dates, but it still feels very soon and haven't make a decision if we will have to postpone even further.  I'll keep you posted on that. The great news is that the money from our sponsor is in the bank, so it is a matter of just finding the right time to do the program.

I have so many DREAMS of producing dance. First, I want to choreograph a dance for the virtual world.  I know that it is a quartet and I will likely be sending out an "international" call for participation in the next few weeks.
We will have digital rehearsals and eventually a LIVE performance. These days I have very limited time for rehearsal (because of the ninjas at home), so this one of those dreams that seem really difficult to happen. That's why I'm so committed to do it.

Another dream I have is producing a scavenger hunt type of dance. How can we still have events and happenings but safely keep our distance?  How can we utilize spaces that are already closed...like galleries with large windows on the streets? But may be this would have to happen later.

For now this is all the news.
Hope all is safe and healthy and follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook.  I'm starting to post a lot more things there these days, since it doesn't take much time.

All the best,
Zornitsa
