REFERENCE GUIDE TO APP PRIVACY IMPLICATIONS
Focused Education reviewed 20 apps which are in common use. We considered:
- Collection of personal information;
- Collection of location information;
- Data residency: inside or outside Canada, and included suggestions for best practices when using an app.
This Reference Guide to App Privacy Implications provides an example of criteria to consider when reviewing an app for instructional use. Teachers and others are advised to be aware of personal information and its collection, and to adhere to their school district guidelines.

PROTECTING STUDENT PERSONAL INFORMATION
