Yesterday Governor Beshear outlined a phased in approach for reopening of the state starting on May 11. We want to help you to get ready!    

Are you a Supplier of Items Needed by Businesses to Reopen?: If you are a local supplier where businesses can obtain PPE or other needed supplies to open their business, please let us know by clicking on our survey. We will include you to our “Local Suppliers List for PPE and Items Needed to Reopen” list.

Webinar to be Offered about “How to Prepare for the Opening of Your Business”: The Paducah Chamber is coordinating with the Purchase District Health Department a webinar on Tuesday, May 5 at 10 a.m. about taking the steps now to be ready for your business to open. Kent Koster, Public Health Director with the Purchase District Health Department, will be the presenter. More details will be released soon on how to register for the call.      

Kentucky Businesses to Reopen in Phases: Gov. Beshear has outlined his Healthy at Work plan for the first phase of reopening in the state, which will start on Monday, May 11. However, he cautioned that in all cases, it will not be business as usual and will require adherence to the 10 rules to reopening, along with industry specific requirements.
IRS Guidance for Employers: The IRS has issued guidance and Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Employee Retention Credit, a part of the CARES Act, which encourages businesses to keep employees on their payroll. The refundable tax credit is 50% of up to $10,000 in wages paid by an eligible employer whose business has been financially impacted by COVID-19. Find more information here.

PPP News: The Small Business Administration has issued Payment Protection Program loans as of Wednesday night:
Total approved loans for PPP2 - Over 960,000
Total amount approved for PPP2 - almost $90 billion dollars
Over 5,300 lenders participating.
