Stories of HOPE
We met Monique shortly before the state shutdown due to the coronavirus, and she had been living with her two children in her empty apartment, with very little clothing, for two months. She was grateful to have her home, though, because she had been homeless and moving from location to location around the area for the past four years.

Thanks to being recognized as an essential business, HOPE For All was able to continue our deliveries, and we took bedroom, living room, and dining room furniture, as well as kitchen supplies, linens, and clothing to her on April 2nd. She and her children now have new beds to sleep on, making the ritual of bedtime normal again.

Your donations have given Monique the beginnings of an answer to her prayers for a stable environment for her family. She has requested that we continue to pray to make that happen for them. Please join us in praying for Monique.
In March and April, Monique and her family were one of the 46 families that we served in the county. With limited resources during the statewide shutdown, we were heartened to be able to impact many of those who had been waiting for furniture to add a sense of comfort and stability to their lives. During that time, 69 people received new beds, and 60 of those affected by our deliveries were children.

We also gave more than 250 toiletry kits to St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Linthicum and Kingdom Celebration Church in Odenton to distribute during their community food giveaways. In addition, emergency clothing for people in crisis was provided to 30 individuals, ranging from adults in recovery to parents and children in need.

Now that we have been able to partially open up to receive community donations (see below), we are rebuilding our inventory so that we can increase our Turning Houses Into Homes deliveries.

Your support, in the form of kind words, prayers, financial gifts, and essential donations, has been a true gift from God in our efforts to serve Anne Arundel County during this unsettling time. Thank you for reaching out to help our neighbors.
Logisitics Manager Roger Potter accepts furniture upon re-opening to the public for essential donations on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. About 30 people came by at the end of April to drop off furniture, kitchen, and linens for our clients.

We will continue to accept essential donations two days a week until we are able to fully reopen. Please hold clothing and Yard Sale donations until further notice.
Thank you

At HOPE For All, we often feel the presence of God in our journey to serve. Several months ago, we applied for a grant from the TowerCares Foundation, but did not receive it. Last month, we received a call that, unbeknownst to us, the grant was resubmitted and approved! Thank you, TowerCares, for the $2500 grant and for believing in the work that we do in the community!

Phillips Charitable Foundation gifted us with a $10,000 grant to purchase basic furniture and deliver it to struggling families in our community through our Turning Houses into Homes Program. This comes at an especially important time and we feel doubly blessed right now to receive this generous gift. Sincere thanks to Phillips Charitable Foundation!

Severna Park High School Drama selected HOPE For All to receive donations from their performances over the fall and winter. Before each show, they screened a video to their audience to request financial gifts for HOPE For All. In April, we received their donation of more than $5000. Falcon Drama is the best! Enjoy their video!

Thank you to longtime volunteer Barb Bryl who is putting together Baskets of HOPE to be taken along with Turning Houses Into Homes furniture deliveries. Normally they are put together by our Intake Teams and given when we have our initial meeting with referred families, but all intakes are being conducted by phone at this time. You've been a big help, Barb!
Did you know that charitable donation tax laws were adjusted under the recently passed CARES Act? Those who take the standard deduction on next year's 2020 tax return can claim a deduction of up to $300 for cash donations made to charity this year. You many remember that many taxpayers discontinued  itemizing deductions when the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 increased the standard deduction. Something to consider when making financial donations this year!

O Lord our God, You and You alone are our refuge and strength. We are always blessed by you in times of trouble, distress, and tragedy. Let us open our minds to hear Your voice and words of comfort.

We all seem to be in crumbling and troublesome times. We feel cast about on a rough sea.Take away our fears and give us strength.

When we call for help You answer. Thank You Lord for Your tender care and love.

Bless all those who have given so much during this pandemic. Remember the sick, those who have died and those they have left behind.

Amen!
