Dear Readers:
Clarissa Lake and I have started work on the next Cyborg Awakenings book Dagger Jack. Dagger was a character introduced in the previous book Axel Rex. We had a plan for the plot, but the characters weren't doing what we wanted them to do. So, we started over, and things are falling into place. This is what sometimes happens when "pantsers" try turn into plotters.
What does this mean? Generally, when I start writing a book, I create the characters starting with their names and then the settings. I jot some notes for the basic premise of the story. Then I begin to visualize the scene, and mostly make it up as I go along by the seat of my pants. That's my definition of a "pantser." Plotters are more likely to create and outline and character sketches before starting a new story. When I try that, it sometimes leads to writer's block.
At this point, we are shooting for a summer release of Dagger Jack. In the meantime we have picked this familiar face for the cover.
