We did it! Thank you to everyone who made this 2020 Cookie Program a success, despite unforeseen challenges. Read on for details on wrapping up the program!

As a special thanks, all Troop Product Managers (TPMs) and Troop Leaders will be receiving your special Thanks-A-Lot™ patch, shipped directly to you in May! Girls will receive their patches along with their patch & reward shipments.

May 4 Auto-Withdrawal

On April 28, all TPMs should have received an email with your troop’s total balance due and the amount to be withdrawn from your account on May 4. All troop proceeds will remain in the troop account.

If you have questions with your final auto-withdrawal amount, please email info@gsiowa.org

Direct to Girl Reward Shipping

All of the rewards items earned by girls, including patches, will once again ship directly to each girl at home. We know this was a hit with volunteers and families last year and are excited to offer this option again!

Timing: We are tentatively planning on rewards items arriving to girls by the end of June. However, due to shutdowns across the country, there may be a delay in the shipping process. We will communicate shipping information as we know more.

Opt out: We know that there are some cases where direct shipping may not work, such as if a family is moving or unable to receive packages. Please fill out this form by Thursday, April 30 to request a Girl Scout’s rewards be sent to her Troop Product Manager instead.

Address updates: If you have updated mailing addresses for girls in your troop, you can update a girl’s contact information through MyGS, or contact us for assistance. Parent/guardians will receive an email notification the week of May 4 with a final opportunity to update the mailing address on file.

Special Items: Some items, such as laptops and ipads, will not ship with the main reward items. We will communicate with girls regarding special item shipments within the next two weeks.

When to Expect Cookie Dough and Special Experience Emails

Cookie Dough
Each girl’s Cookie Dough account number and balance will be sent directly to the family’s email addresses on file by the end of May. Girls will be able to use their Cookie Dough to register for camps and events, renew their Girl Scout membership for next year, or in the GSGI council shops or online shop. Check out the Program Credit Policy for details.

Cookie Dough earned in the 2020 Cookie Program will not expire until March 15, 2021 (previously September 15, 2020). This extension will also apply to Munch Money earned in the 2019 Fall Product Program. This extension applies to girls in grades K-4 this year only, as Cookie Dough is automatically banked for girls in grades 5-11, as long as they register for the upcoming year by September 15.

Looking for information about the 2020 Summer Camp Season? Our team is closely monitoring the public health guidance. At this point, there are no changes to the posted schedule. Any updates to the camp season will be announced by May 11.

Troop and Girl Experiences
For troops who reached the levels for the Mud Run, Troop Camp Out, and/or Trampoline/Water Park/Art Adventure, as well as girls who earned the CEO Party reward, we will be emailing information with registration and event details by the end of May. We are continuing to monitor public health guidelines, and if there are any changes to these events, we will communicate alternatives as soon as possible.

Important Dates

  • May 4: Final payment auto-withdrawn from troop bank account.
