What Will Re-Gathering Look Like?
These past months have required an agility for which leaders could not have been prepared. Pastors who are in the early stages of formation to those in ministry for decades have scrambled to retool, learning new technology to keep their people engaged and well-feed. I am amazed at the tremendous efforts that I have seen in very difficult circumstances.

Now that states are phasing in re-opening, pastors once again are flexing to a new reality. What will it be like when the doors of our churches open again? On May 6, 2020 at 1pm Central Time, I will be hosting a panel discussion with three pastors in diverse settings to discuss their thoughts as to how we regather. I will be joined by Paul Hahn, Coordinator of Mission to North America for the Presbyterian Church in America. This live webcast will provide opportunities for Q&A and will be recorded. If you wish to participate, there is no cost, but you must register. Click Here to do so. Look for the Facebook Live Event and later posting of the video if you are unable to join the webcast.

NXTGEN Joins with Mission to North America

Since its inception two years ago, NXTGEN has witnessed wonderful growth. New cohorts have been formed serving pastors in the early stages of ministry preparation as well as providing avenues of renewal for those with years of service. That growth has garnered the attention of Mission to North America, the arm of the PCA whose mission is: Strengthening the Church to Serve, Grow, and Multiply. NXTGEN is partnering with MNA as I have begun serving part-time as their Director of Ecosystem Development.

In my work with both NXTGEN and the On Wisconsin Network, I created flourishing environments in which churches now work together for the health of presbyteries. This work prepared me well for this new role. MNA's Ecosystem Development is the coordinated and collaborative effort among churches, presbyteries, and networks in the PCA to engage church planting and renewal efforts. It is MNA’s desire to enhance cooperation within our churches’ and presbyteries to be more agile to meet the needs of our changing world. The webcast above is a small example of this desire to assist our churches.
This new part-time role augments my work here at NXTGEN, providing increased exposure to the work I have been doing. My role with Ecosystem Development provides the platform to connect with a greater audience in my denomination with a view to increase cohorts throughout the country. Already partnerships with the Midwest Alliance, the Mid-South Church Planting Network, the Hispanic Leadership Initiative among others, are generating new and exciting opportunities. NXTGEN will continue to establish mentored cohorts for those in formation, as I collaborate with other ministries, such as those listed above, to provide training and curriculum in more diverse settings.

Please continue to pray for NXTGEN and for me. I am seeking to bring others onto the NXTGEN team. Your support, both in prayer and gifts, will enable this expansion and the greater effectiveness of NXTGEN.
