Hello!

Here's what's in this email:
1. We had some incredible feedback from our prayer vigil this past week, and there's a new opportunity for you to get involved!
2. We've started a "virtual coffee hour" on Sundays at 9:30 over Zoom
3. Pastor Chris created a Prayer Guide for our whole community to use regularly

Before we get to those items, we wanted to make sure you also had the latest Home Worship Guide for this Sunday: Click here for the Home Worship Guide for 5/3/20

First, we had over 40 people participate in our prayer vigil this past week.
Here's what one participant said:
"When I signed up to be a part of the prayer vigil I went into thinking I was going to be praying and focusing on those afflicted with corona virus . Immediately I was swept up in the comfort of God's arms around me. As I prayed for comfort and guidance for our leaders, for those who are isolated, sick or afraid I found God bringing me comfort. He brought names and images of people to pray for that I never expected, he placed his robed arm on my shoulder I felt he spoke to me. There were verses that I have heard read from the pulpit millions of times that now had new meaning to me. This prayer vigil was as much a comfort to me as I am hoping it was to those I was praying for. I was impacted more  then I ever imagined. I am not stopping at my hour, I will continue this through the night until my body surrenders to sleep. I am thankful for this opportunity to be a part of this vigil and look forward to being a part of many more to come. "Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great poser and outstretched arm Nothing is too hard for you. " (Jeremiah 32:17)" - Cherie

Pastor Chris would like to encourage you to be a part of the 5 day/24 hour prayer vigil this coming week. Here's the relevant info.
  • A coalition of churches across Orange County has dedicated Monday, May 4th through Friday, May 8th as "Seek Week" -- calling churches across the 34 cities of Orange County together in 5 days of unified prayer.
  • One part of this Seek Week will be a 24-hour, 5-day prayer vigil (much like the one we completed as a community this past week). If you want to sign up for this prayer vigil, you can do so here: https://www.24-7prayer.com/signup/84632c
  • Just as before, more than one person can sign up for a specific prayer slot. Please email hello@gracehb.org (or simply reply to this email) and Pastor Chris will send you a prayer guide you can use.

Second, we've started up a Virtual Coffee Hour on Sundays at 9:30am.
We want to make sure to be staying connected even while we're isolated. So, we've started up a virtual coffee hour using Zoom (it's a video conferencing app). If you want to join us, make sure to install Zoom before this Sunday: Then, on Sunday at 9:30am, visit gracehb.org/coffeehour to join the video call! We'll let you in to the meeting and enjoy the time together. Even if you have technical issues this first week, don't give up! We are all learning new ways to stay connected.

Third, Pastor Chris has called all of us to engage in praying regularly.
To do this, he created a prayer guide to help us as we pray together as a whole church family. Download it and commit to praying through it often! Click here for the Prayer Guide

Blessings to you,
Drew Williams

P.S. If you want a simple way to greet our whole church, send us a 5-7 second video greeting of your family by filming yourself saying, "Good morning from the ______ home!" and submitting the video at gracehb.org/submit. We'll use those in coming weeks for Sunday worship.
