Use links, bookmarks, or labels to focus people on to the exact part of a document that you want them to work on or review.

This move is easy in a Google Doc, where you can create a heading or bookmark for a sentence or paragraph, link to it, and then share that link with others. Then, when they click on it, they will not only move to the document, but also arrive at the exact place in the document where you want them to be.  Though it is less simple in other document types, you can still use callouts or bold highlights to be precise about the areas of the document that need attention from individuals.

This move sums up the graceful intention of so many others: when you’re in charge or leading and you need the expertise of someone else, spend some of your own time to save some of their time and allow them to do what they do best, at their highest point of contribution. Scuttling with and scrolling through documents burns energy and focus.
