Don't look back

Hi friends,

I hope you’re doing okay this week. Lately, I have noticed something in my own behavior that I felt I needed to share with you: how easy, how tempting it is to look back on the past and regret our actions (or lack of).

Whenever I discover something new or realize that a small change in what I was doing could have a positive effect on my life, my first instinct is to look back, to feel guilty for not having known, not having used that knowledge all this time. Suddenly, I feel late, I think to myself “what good will it do to me now if I already lost all this time?”.

Yet, I should focus on the present, there is nothing to change in the past and I can’t blame myself for it, I did what I could do best with the knowledge I had at the time and it’s enough. The future? It’s way too far ahead, focusing on it will only bring me worries, and prevent me from taking actions. The only place that matters is the here and now, it’s where my, and your power reside: the time when we can change the world.

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift.
That is why it is call present.” — From the movie, Kung Fu Panda.

— What I learned this week
Here's what I've been loving this week:
📖  One book I'm reading : Le Signal •  Reading this thriller by one of my favorite authors in the world, Maxime Chattam. It's the first time I read a thriller though, and I don't know what to expect haha.
💡 One quote I'm loving • "People often think it’s weird to get hyped about reading one page or meditating for one minute or making one sales call. But the point is not to do one thing. The point is to master the habit of showing up."
James Clear
