Niwot Elementary Families,

I love the "Niwot Strong" sign above, which was created by one of our NES families and hangs proudly on their fence. Our community of students, staff, and parents continue to be strong every single day. I am so proud of you all. Your "Growth Mindset" is shining through.

A reminder that tomorrow, Monday, April 27th, is a non-student contact day. Take a break from the technology and your studies for the day! We'll see everyone back online on Tuesday. I’m so proud of how hard you are all working. Enjoy the day off and the beautiful weather.

The week of May 4-May 8 is Teacher Appreciation week and we are hoping to create a special video for our teachers, but we will need your help! Now more than ever, they need to be reminded how much we love and appreciate them. In order to do this, please record a short video of your student/s passing a pencil and sharing a message to their teacher! We will combine the videos and SURPRISE our teachers with this special message. Please see below for the link and the details.

In order to participate in the Teacher Appreciation video and other online celebrations throughout the month of May it will require parent permission. To provide this permission, please see the important information below.

Thank you to all of the families that joined my Read-Aloud on Friday. We had a great turnout and it was so fun to see everyone. Back by popular demand...I will do it again this Friday. I hope to see you all there!

Hi Niwot Families! Help us honor our teachers! Record a short video of your student/s passing a pencil and sharing a message to their teacher! We will combine the videos and SURPRISE our teachers with this special message. The last question in this form will allow you to upload a file from your device. Classroom teachers, support staff, specials teachers can be celebrated!

Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate as well! If you want to submit more than one video, submit another response to this form.

Please submit your video by Friday, MAY 1st. We can't wait for us to create this special surprise for your teachers.

**In order for students to participate in the video you must please complete the permission process below**

Celebrating student success is an important aspect of the school experience and culture of the St. Vrain Valley Schools. Our school plans to recognize its students in a variety of ways, including photographs, recorded videos, or other forms of visual and/or written presentations or performances. These recordings may be posted to the District or school’s website and/or through District-approved social media and in some cases, will include student names. Your student may have an opportunity to be included in an organized online recognition presentation with their school. This will require parent permission. To provide this permission, please log into your Infinite Campus portal account and follow these instructions.

Join Principal Pitz for the Read-Aloud of a story on Friday, May 1st on Webex.

She will be reading to Preschool-2nd grades at 1:00pm and 3rd-5th grades at 2:00pm.

An Important Message Regarding Student/Teacher Video Chat Tools

We are excited that many of our teachers have been able to connect with students through Webex and other video chat tools. However, to protect the privacy of all students and families, we ask that you refrain from posting photos, screenshots, or recordings of these classroom experiences on social media.

In accordance with recommendations from the Governor's Office and our county health agency partners, all in-person (in building) instruction in St. Vrain, will be canceled for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. The district will continue to implement its online learning in accordance with the district calendar.

The district will continue to update parents via the DISTRICT WEBSITE.
