COVID-19 UPDATE

Northside Chamber members and friends,

In this update, I've tried to pull some useful resources for you as you respond to the pandemic. If there are specific resources that you're looking for, initiatives that you suggest the chamber to undertake, or questions that you have, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

THINKING ABOUT THE "NEXT NORMAL"

Every business has been affected by the pandemic and every business needs to think carefully and strategically about how to successfully operate in the coming months.

Here are some resources to help you do that:

"In Your Business: Pause or Pivot" - a slide presentation from the Northside Chamber, raising awareness of return-to-work considerations
"A Plan for Pennsylvania's Businesses" from the governor's office, with information on upcoming plans from the state
"A Blueprint for Shopping Safe" from the Retail Industry Leaders Association and National Retail Federation, with guidelines for spaces with a lot of visitor traffic
"A How-To Guide for Reopening Your Workplace" from Cushman & Wakefield with excellent recommendation for office spaces

PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM

The second round of funding for the Paycheck Protection Program is released today. Another $310 billion on top of the original $349 billion, this second round is an initiative to reach more and smaller businesses with the relief funds.

For information on the changes for this second round, see this article.

If you've received funds through this program and are expecting the loan to be forgiven, there are very specific actions that MUST be taken. This set of slides from a webinar presented by NowCFO is a great resource for maximizing loan forgiveness.

THE BEST WEBINARS FOR UNDERSTANDING THE PANDEMIC

Of the many webinars and meetings that I've attended in the past several weeks, there are two series that I'd like to recommend. Archives are available via the links.

Allegheny Conference's Response + Recovery series has been an excellent source of up-to-date and relevant information from experts.
U.S. Chamber's Path Forward series has provided great insights into the path to recovery from several interesting perspectives.
